How to start traveling?

Updated: Dec 15, 2019

They ask me how?

I mean it's not easy knowing you have a 9-5 job and travelling can gets really exhausting.

Travelling in your dream destination whether it could be local or International is hard, but you must find ways to make it happen.

Here are some basic Tips on how to make it (Travel)

Answer these questions before you proceed reading the whole post:

- Where do you want to go?

- When? Is it doable? (assuming that you have job)

- Will it cost you much? ( I promise it's not expensive as you think when you planned and prepared for it)

Start

1. Plan ahead of time

There are things you need to consider when travelling and first on the list is Planning.

This will consume so much of your time as you need to do research which in my case I did both reading blog posts like this and watch travel guides in Youtube. You can do either both whatever you may prefer.

Research:

- Identify your travel destination

- Scout seat sale (if you will travel by air) and book a ticket

- Look for tourist and non-tourist spots

- Check for a place to stay (Hotel, Hostel or and Airbnb)

Tip: Get a pen and notebook. It's a great start when planning. Excel sheets works for me tbh.

2. Save money

By this time, you should've done your research and complete with the planning phase.

This might be the hardest part of the process if you are a person who have a lot of responsibilities and financial issue BUT you can still make your dream travel happen.

Tips:

- Book a ticket ahead of time. The longer your travel date the better (6 months ahead at least) which may only cost you less. Keep an eye out for seat sales.

- Book for your place in advance too! (3 months ahead your travel date)

- Once all is settled, you still have a lot of time to save for your pocket money without getting so much from your savings account.

3. Preparation

This is the most exciting phase of the process. You now visualising yourself in your travel destination. Pack things you only need especially if you're a person who don't buy excess luggage like me. Make sure you only have 7 kilos or less on your carry-on.

Tip: Remember to always pack light! ( I'm a bit guilty when it comes to packing. lol)
