Peach Boy Restaurant: Sharing my own experience + Giveaway!

Hey Foodies! There’s a newly opened restaurant in Mandaluyong! If you live or work nearby, this might be for you!

We met the owner Mr. Paolo Q. Rama, a first time restaurateur and the man behind the original concept of Peach boy. The name was inspired by one of his favorite dessert—Peach cobbler which is a specialty dessert in the restaurant. It also drew inspiration from the popular japanese folklore entitled Momotaro or Peach boy. Together with Chef Sonny Mariano which we also met, they came up with these exciting menu below. The menu consists of dishes from Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese and Western Cuisines.

PEACH BOY RESTAURANT

G/F NORKIS Bldg., 11 Calbayog Cor. Guevara St. Brgy. Highway hills, Mandaluyong City

BUSINESS HOURS Mon-Thu 10AM-10PM Fri-Sat 10AM-11PM Sunday 7AM-4PM

MENU

Starters

Crispy Crab and cheese pockets — I find this very appetising and a must try! It has crab, cream cheese, melted cheese and herbs inside the wanton served with sweet chili sauce on the side.

Salad Peach Salad — It’s refreshing, I like it especially they used peach and honey vinaigrette as the dressing for the mixed greens with tomato, cashews and peach slices.

Sandwiches Peach pork belly — What I like about this sandwich is that they served it with banh mi bread. Fun-fact: Banh mi is the Vietnamese word for bread. Well this sandwich taste similar to what I’ve eaten in Saigon but with a twist of their signature peach barbecue sauce. The pork belly is indeed tender! One of my favourite plus I like the fries. ChoriBurger — If you are fun of longganisa, this might be the perfect sandwich for you! It’s a homemade longganisa patty with sunny-side up egg, barbecue mayo and atcharq, served in brioche bun.

All day Breakfast Adobo Fried Rice Omelette — I must say it’s my first time seeing rice omelette, what a concept! They stuffed it with chicken adobo fried rice with adobo sauce and peach salsa on the side.

Pasta

Laing Pesto with Tinapa — I actually like it to be honest. This is totally different from all the pasta I had. The noodles is spaghetti, pasta is al dente and it has coconut stewed gabi leaves pesto, topped with tinapa flakes.

Main Course

BBQ Platter — Perfect platter for groups! You will have Peach baby back ribs, Peach Barbecue pork belly & Chicken leg quarter, Boneless chicken teriyaki. Two sauces included in this platter plus sautéed veggies and cabbage slaw.

Teriyaki Chicken — Who doesn’t want teriyaki flavoured food? Well, I’m one of those! Chicken is so good, it is tender and it looks like they grilled the chicken so it has more flavour than ordinary fried chicken.

Finale

Ube Lava Pancakes — One of their specialty dessert that I tried. The pancakes are Ube flavored with ube balata sauce. More ube more fun! I like that it’s not super sweet, just the right amount of sugar for me. I somehow tasted coconut milk there too! Peach Cobbler — This one is a bomb! The layers of buttery streusels makes this a for sure must try to those who have sweet tooth!

Milkshakes Choco Mint Matcha Nutty Choco

— These are the ones I tried.

Personal Review:

Ambiance and location – spacious, cozy and well air-conditioned (di ka pagpapawisan sa sobrang lamig). It’s casual dining restaurant and can accommodate groups. Max capacity of 150 guests, they also have a function room available on the second floor that can fit a maximum of 50 persons whether it’s a party, events, business meetings or just get-together with family and friends.

Selections and food – Menu consists of dishes from Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese and Western cuisines. My personal favorites were Crispy Crab and cheese pockets, Peach Salad, Peach pork belly sandwich, Teriyaki Chicken and Ube Lava Pancakes for the finale! Oh, I love their Matcha milkshake too!

Value for Money – Very affordable (less than 200 php for sandwiches, pasta and other main courses. Less than 1000php for BBQ Platters-good for 4 persons)

Overall, I would recommend this and will go back again.
